PUBLIUS GUEST AUTHOR: Joe Brocato, author of Hit It Off: 21 Rules for Mastering the Art and Science of Relationships In Life and Business.
Critical Thinking is the umbrella under which all 21 Rules in my book fall. We are getting a master class from Donald Trump right now as he reaches out to the UAW and seeks their support.
Critical thinking is essentially:
1. Effective communication (Trump has sent his warning to UAW President Shawn Fain and has expressed his keen interest in having a conversation with UAW)
2. Carefully assessing information (the practical effect of the green agenda on workers in MI. The green agenda and electric vehicles will destroy the auto industry.)
3. Objectively evaluating the situation (keeping workers working is not a red or blue issue; it’s an American issue)
Bottom line: Politicians should be required to apply CT to every issue and be able to prove they’ve done so. Otherwise, the politics around important issues that affect people’s lives will preclude common sense compromises that can actually help them.
