Your Wifi Enabled Smart Car is Spying on You! Will Congress Stop Them?
Car Companies Think They Are Tech Companies: THEY ARE WATCHING YOU!
Big Auto Is Watching You...& Making Billions Off Your Driving Data
Jim Jordan Is Standing Up to Big Auto, Will His Colleagues?
PUBLIUS SPECIAL GUEST: Eric Peters, is one of the nation’s foremost automotive experts and member of the International Motor Press Association and the Washington Automotive Press Association.
A $2 TRILLION AUTO BAILOUT? Big data is big money — just ask Google and Facebook. Modern cars collect millions of pieces of information about you. The auto companies are monopolizing the ownership of all this data, which analysts believe will provide them with $2 trillion in new revenue. Ford’s CEO even went so far as to say that “We've never ever been challenged on how we use that [data]. And that's the leverage we got here." Drivers should own this data, not Big Auto.
UPCOMING HEARING: On July 26, Congress’ Innovation, Data, and Commerce Subcommittee, which is run by Republican Reps. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Tim Wahlberg (R-MI), will hold a hearing on autonomous vehicles. It’s critical they take steps to prove Congress is serious about data privacy by giving consumers ownership of this valuable data.
PLEASE URGE YOUR LISTENERS TO CALL THE INNOVATION, DATA, AND COMMERCE SUBCOMMITTEE AT (202) 225-3641 AND URGE IT TO GIVE THEM CONTROL OF THEIR CAR DATA.
